Workshop: Practical operation of Community Radio, St. Patrick’s Hall.

This informal workshop includes topics and hands-on experience of both the technical and programming aspects of operating a community radio station. There is no fee for this workshop. Facilitator Fred Campbell and Cyril McGrath (all ages welcome)

Radio Tilting broadcasts BEGIN on 104.7 and 95.1 FM and on the Web for the entire four days of Féile Tilting. Events and activities include interviews, storytelling, local history, genealogy, poetry, music and song, local recordings and connections with voices from the past. Join in the fun at St. Patrick’s Hall. Call in encourage via SKYPE

Readings and Recitations at the Slipway hosted by Roy Dwyer, local writers and storytellers (Recorded for broadcast). 

Meet and Greet: St. Patrick's Hall. Welcome and meet old friends and visitors. Snacks (courtesy of the Fogo Island CO-Op & Cull's Foodland) and music will be available.

Community Accounts Workshop: (Fire Hall)

Introduction to Loom Weaving: Drop in to the Reardon House (Sandy Cove) and meet weaver Claudia Brahms and learn about the art of weaving

Community Radio , Student programming: By the students of Fogo Island Central Academy


Using Digital Recorders Facilitated by Victoria Bailey at St. Patrick's Hall. Recorders will be available for load during the festival.


Fish & Brews at St. Patrick's Hall, enjoy a great fish & brews dinner, $10.00

Shed Crawl  Meet  at St. Patrick's hall (19 years and over) and tour selected sheds in Tilting. Local and visiting entertainers will entertain you at each stop with live broadcast. Followed by music and a draw at St. Patrick's  Hall. Due to the great demand preregistration will be required, $5.00

All Day

Quilt Day: Pin Your Quilt Day (Weather Permitting). Residents of Tilting will be hanging out their most colourful and unique quilts.  The community will be ablaze with colour, providing a great opportunity for photographers and visitors to explore the community.

Kite Flying (wind permitting), Stilt Walking and  Traditional games: Bring  your own kite, bought or homemade. Gather on the hill behind St. Patrick's Hall and in the parking lot.

Light up your stage on Saturday night with a lantern

Craft Guild, Lillian Dwyer's house beginning at 11:00 am

Brunch at the Slipway Enjoy a hearty lunch of soup and sandwiches prepared by the Tilting Expatriates Association (TEA),  local and visiting entertainers will be on hand. $10:00

Tilting Walk, meet Jim McGrath at Bunker Hill. Learn all about the WWII American Radar Base and tour the ruins.


Storytelling  Hosted by Maureen  Foley at the Slipway. Share stories and lies. Broadcasted live.

Night walk, led by Dan Murphy, meet at the stage in Sandy Cove and dress for “darkness".

Sunday dinner at St. Patrick's hall  prepared by the Altar Society, (pre-booking required) in St. Patrick’s Hall, $20.00. 


Tilting Panel, Meet Lillian Dwyer at the fire hall and begin work together on a "Quilted Tilting Panel",  (similar to the ones displayed on the Capt. Earl Windsor)

Tilting Community Radio Call in show hosted by Cyril Burke and Wanda McGrath. Check our web page on Saturday September for call in phone number and Skype address.

Potato Garden Walk,  Visit the potato gardens of Tilting with Al Dwyer and learn about local potatoes and potato beds.

Making Fish hosted by Roy Dwyer at the Dwyer Premises. Learn all about filleting and salting cod fish

St. Patrick's Day Parade from the Lane house to St. Patrick's Hall. Bar will be open with local music and entertainment

Irish Pub Night Entertainment will be session style. Bring your instruments/songs and stories and we will bring the mics to you.  Broadcasted live  and webcast from St. Patrick’s Hall, $5.00.
